Greta Thunberg has foreseen the climate disaster coming to our planet. Her unwavering focus is to bring awareness, and a solution to, the coming calamity.

In early 2017, this 14-year-old girl started sitting alone in front of the Swedish Parliament, armed only with her determination, clarity of vision, and unquestionable sincerity. Her one-person protest touched hundreds of thousands of people around the globe. What world leaders seemed unable or unwilling to do, she took on her shoulders.

WHY IS THIS INCREDIBLE SPIKE IN CO2 SO DANGEROUS TO OUR PLANET?
For 800,000 years, carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the atmosphere never surpassed 280 parts per million (PPM). Now, it is 450 PPM and growing daily. In past interglacial periods (at max 280 PPM) our seas were 30 feet deeper than today. Much of the remaining dry land was uninhabitable. These previous CO2 spikes took thousands of years. This current CO2 spike of 450 PPM took only 220 years (1800- 2021) to reach. Most of this increase occurred in the last 40 years.

This more than frightens me for my grandchildren, and for your grandchildren. It is unimaginable that every adult on the planet is not horrified at the future we are leaving them.

CLEAR REASONS WHY WE NEED TO SLOW, STOP, AND REVERSE THIS CO2 SPIKE:
Iceland is losing its glacial ice at an alarming rate. By 2030 to 2050 there will be no glacial ice remaining. This alone will raise the world’s oceans by 18 inches. That much water released at that location will drastically slow or stop our Gulf Stream, resulting in disastrous changes to our environment.

Acidification of our oceans is reaching dangerous levels for all ocean creatures. Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the oceans have become 30% more acidic as a result of the ocean’s inability to absorb the huge manmade increase of CO2.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
“We need to realize we’re part of the environment, that we need the natural world. We depend on it. We can’t go on destroying. We’ve got to somehow understand that we’re not separated from it, we are all intertwined. Harm nature, harm ourselves.”

— Jane Goodall
